Antònia Vicens
Antònia Vicens is a Mallorcan writer, author of novels, short stories and poetry collections. She became known at literary level in 1967 with her first novel 39º a l'ombra (Lleonard Muntaner, 2019), awarded with the Sant Jordi prize. Within her recognized and prolific career, we find publications such as Quilòmetres de tul per a un cadáver (1980, republished by AdiA Edicions in 2020), Febre alta (Edicions 62, 1988) and Ànima de gos (2010, republished by AdiA Edicions in 2019). In 2009 she published his first collection of poems, Lovely (Editorial Moll), followed, among others, by Sota el paraigua el crit (Lleonard Muntaner, 2013) and Pare què fem amb la mare morta (La Breu Edicions, 2020), winner of the Serra d'Or Critics' Prize. Among her latest works are Quasi un miracle, tots els contes (La Magrana, 2022) and Crideu la mort errant, digueu-me on va (La Magrana, 2024). The whole of her work, among others, has received the Creu de Sant Jordi of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes (2022), the Medalla d'Or of the Balearic Government (2023) and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (2024).
