Anna Puigjaner
An architect, editor, researcher, and a member and co-founder of MAIO, a studio which upholds an architectural practice that is necessarily linked with theoretical reflection. In the academic domain, she combines research and teaching in universities like Columbia and Harvard and is a lecturer at the Royal College of Art in London and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (ETSAV-UPC), where she is also a member of the “Habitar” research group. Some of her projects have received awards like the FAD Prize, and her work has been exhibited in the MoMA, New York, in the Venice Biennale of Architecture. Interested in building homes that adapt to the needs of their inhabitants, she became known with her project “Kitchenless City”, winner of the 2016 Wheelwright Prize awarded by Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has also co-edited the review Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme (Journals of Architecture and Urbanism), which is published by the College of Architects of Catalonia.
