Anna Hawkins

Anna Hawkins is a U.S.-born artist based in Edmonton, Canada. She works primarily in moving image and installation. Her works center around the ways that images, gestures and language are circulated and transformed online and the impacts of technology on the intimate spheres of daily life. Her works have recently been exhibited and screened at the Istanbul International Experimental Film Festival (Istanbul, TR), Dazibao (Montréal, CA), Images Festival (Toronto, CA), The Art Gallery of Alberta (Edmonton, CA), the WRO Media Art Biennale (Wrocław, PL), LUX (London, UK), and Le Festival international du film sur l’art (Montréal, CA). In 2022, she was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award, Canada’s preeminent award for Contemporary Art.
