Andrés Neuman

Andrés Neuman was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, where he spent his childhood. The son of musician emigrants, he later lived in Granada, where he became a Lecturer in Spanish American Literature. His first novel, Bariloche (1999), was short listed in the Premio Herralde and stands among the 10 best books of the year according to El Cultural. His following novels were La vida en las ventanas (2002), Una vez Argentina (2003) and El viajero del siglo (2009), Premio Alfaguara and Premio de la Crítica, was voted among the 5 best novels of the year by the critics of El País and El Mundo. He is also the author of the books of short stories El que espera (2002), El último minuto (2007) and Alumbramiento (2006); the aphorism El equilibrista (2005); the book on Latin America Cómo viajar sin ver (2010); and the book Década (2008), an anthology of all his published poems.

He was included in the list Bogotá-39 drawn up for the Hay Festival, and in the edition of the British magazine Granta dedicated to Spanish prose. He runs his own website and the blog Microrréplicas.
