Amira Hass

Journalist.

Journalist. In 1993 she settled in Gaza and since 1997 she has lived in Ramala, the West Bank, becoming the first Israeli journalist residing in the occupied territories. From there, she has worked as a correspondent for the Israeli newspaper Haarez, having written about the Israeli occupation and Palestine society since 1991. She is the author of the book Ramala Chronicles (2005), exception testimony of life in the occupied territories, which has been translated into five languages. She has also published Drinking the Sea at Gaza (2000) and Domani andra peggio (2004), a collection of the columns she writes for the Italian weekly magazine Internazionale.
