Alec Soth

Photographer

Born in 1969 in the United States, he lives and works in Minneapolis.

Alec Soth belongs to the young generation of American photographers. His work has attracted considerable attention and has won a number of prizes fellowships from the McKnight and Jerome Foundation and in 2003, the Santa Fe Prize for Photography.

His work features in a number of public and private collections and he is represented by the prestigious Gagosian Gallery in New York.

His books Sleeping by the the Mississippi (2004) and Niagara (2006) are published by Steidl.

Alex Soth became an Associate of Magnum Photos in June 2006.
