Albert Solé

Journalist and filmmaker

With a degree in Information Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Albert Solé has specialized in documentary filmmaking. After working as a reporter for TVE and TV3 and participating as a scriptwriter in several documentaries for television, Solé made the leap to documentary directing. In 2008 he premiered in theaters the feature film Bucarest, la memoria perdida (Bausan Films), where he explored his personal relationship with his father, the politician and jurist Jordi Solé Tura, who was suffering from Alzheimer's at the time, and for which he was awarded the Goya for Best Documentary. He is also director and founder of the production company Minimal Films, with which he has directed other pieces such as Regreso a Ragga or Al final de la escapada (2010), recognized with the Audience Award and Best Documentary Direction at the Malaga Festival. In 2023, on the occasion of the centenary of Jorge Semprún's birth, he directed the feature film La vida de Semprún (Televisión Española and Minimal Films).
