William Binney

Bill Binney explains some of the technology systems the United States government uses to monitor and control the population. After the Snowden case, Binney provided valuable information on governments’ complex mass-surveillance systems and formally called out the illegal and politically dangerous aspects.

Binney is a mathematician who specialises in cryptography systems, an analyst and codebreaker who worked for the National Security Agency (NSA) for 30 years, where he worked his way up to technical director. In 2001, he stepped down because he didn’t agree with the government’s policy and secret decisions. He then began to publicly call out illegal use of analysis tools he had helped create.
