In the twentieth and last issue of Xcèntric Focus, film critic Philipp Engel presents Le Révélateur, one of the first films by renowned French filmmaker Philippe Garrel. Filmed just after May '68, this work was born out of the hangover from those historical events, although it can still be enjoyed without knowing the context it was created in. A silent black and white film whose central motif is the family. Its abstract images, woven together with a dreamlike logic, make this film absolutely hypnotic.
