Synopsis:

Anniversaries of revolutions lend themselves to celebrations and revisions of all kinds, for and against. Coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of May ‘68, we are offering a journey through the history of the popular graphic art that emerged in France and England during that year of protests, demonstrations and revolt. We accompany this selection of posters (most of them anonymous) with the comments of French philosopher Alain Badiou, with the aim of giving perspective and depth to images that have the simplicity and the power required by political mass communication. At the end of the video, Badiou includes some comments on the possible errors of this type of historical commemoration, particularly when celebrating what was, at the time, an uprising against established power.
