Mark Toscano: “The history of cinema is much richer than we expected”

Mark Toscano is a filmmaker, curator and film preservationist at the Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles. He has been working in the preservation, restoration and programming of experimental films for over twenty years. He is a knowledgeable advocate of artistic and experimental cinema, championing his work and that of projects like Xcèntric for showcasing alternative voices and stories in contrast to commercial cinema.
