The city and its inhabitants have adapted to epidemics over the centuries. Given the situation caused by COVID-19, and taking into account future communicable diseases that may be triggered by global warming and the arrival of new species, how must cities change to live with climate and health emergency? Elizabeth Diago, manager of the New York City Health System Preparedness Program and the Health Crisis Preparedness and Response Program at ISGlobal, talked to lower sixth-form students at Viladomat secondary school.
