"The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Friends of the CCCB

Exclusive for Friends of the CCCB

The session coordinated by Antonio Lozano offers us the reading of the work of Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860-1935), one of the most important writers of American letters of her time and a key figure of feminism, reformist socialism and thought in the United States.

The Yellow Wallpaper is the author's most well-known and emblematic piece, and despite having written a highly diverse body of work, paradoxically, it can be asserted that Charlotte Gilman always wrote the same book, as she consistently discusses how to achieve the advancement of humanity, always keeping in mind that without the emancipation of women, this progress is not possible. Perhaps the narrative that diverges the most is precisely The yellow wallpaper. A true gem.
