Barcelona Tomorrow
The Resilient Metropolis
Third session "Barcelona Tomorrow"
Debate
Free with pre-booking
The third session of the “Barcelona Tomorrow” process looks at two of today’s major challenges: the climate emergency and urban health.
In the coming years, the metropolitan area of Barcelona will be faced with major challenges: mitigating the now inevitable effects of climate change; accelerating the energy transition; and promoting a greener, more sustainable, healthier urban model. Concepts like resilience, efficiency and sustainability will be key in the design of public space, housing and buildings, and transport infrastructure, as well as in the articulation of supply networks – whether for energy or food. Given the horizon of an increasingly dense Barcelona, in this session we will debate how to rethink the metropolis to make it more amenable and healthier for its inhabitants, in addition to greener and more respectful of the ecosystems to which it belongs.
The third day in the participatory process “Barcelona Tomorrow”, organised by the Barcelona Metropolitan Strategic Plan, curated Anna Pérez Català y Andreu Ulied, and coordinated by Marc Garcia, includes three round table debates with local and international experts, and will close out with a conversation moderated by the university platform debat.org.
Follow the event online via the Barcelona Tomorrow platform and the CCCB Public Space website.
