The Photography Book Today
Editorial policies and trends in the creation and publication of photography books
Debate
The situation of the photography book today and the editorial policies governing the market form the conceptual basis of this round table at which prestigious national and international directors and editors share and debate their own experiences and motivations in the complex task of publishing a photography book.
What are the risks involved for editors/businesspeople? What is the real window for documentary photography and photojournalism in the book industry at the present time? Is there a specific trend today in the publication of photography books? What are relations like between editors and photographers? These and other questions will be put to the speakers. The organizers also invite professionals—photographers, booksellers, editors, designers, distributors and representatives of cultural institutions—to attend this enlightening event that aims to reveal the situation of what appears to be one of the final redoubts for the dissemination of documentary photography.
