The third session of the summer screening series in the framework of the exhibition “Suburbia. Building the American Dream”, invites us to explore some of the most complex and fascinating interpretations that cinema has offered about the American Dream.

Suburbia
Penelope Spheeris (United States, 1983, 94’, Original version with Catalan subtitles)

Produced by the much-missed Roger Corman, the film that inspired the eponymous anthem by the Pet Shop Boys depicts the X Generation, which was the second generation to grow up in a more desolate Suburbia, practically in ruins and filled with abandoned houses occupied by punks who saw no future within the system. With a furious soundtrack featuring bands like The Vandals and T.S.O.L.

This film is not suitable for minors under 18
