63', 2002. Directed by Carole Poliquin
Highlights the dangers associated with the appropriation of humankind's common assets (water, health, genes, knowledge) by private companies.
This documentary alerts us to the danger of the appropriation of common goods by private interests. The narrative structure takes its inspiration from the Book of Genesis ("And God created the world in seven days") to show in seven chapters how corporations are turning the world into merchandise. Illustrating the way in which such common goods as water, health, genes and knowledge are being privatised and transformed into consumer goods, Poliquin narrates stories filmed in different countries to show us the already visible consequences of the way the world is being taken over by economic interests.
