Sampler Sèries is an initiative by L'Auditori de Barcelona to promote new music genres. The CCCB collaborates once again with the proposal and presents the music session by Peter Evans Trio at the CCCB Theatre.
American trumpeter and composer Peter Evans is one of the most surprising and talented musicians on the international free improvisation scene. His 2016 album Lifeblood, recorded live in Cleveland and New York, is not just a clear illustration of his prodigious technique; it is particularly an expression of an unbounded musical imagination. The way he internalises the timbral possibilities of the trumpet reminds us that the limit of acoustic instruments is not where we thought it was. Evans is accompanied by the exceptional vibraphonist Joel Ross, with Max Jaffe on drums and electronics, rounding off the session with improvisations as a trio.
