The Arab Revolutions: Changes in Mediterranean Geopolitics

Debate

The revolutionary and counter-revolutionary situations in the Arab world are opening up a key period of changes in the geopolitical balance in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Is it too soon to foresee the sense and extension of these changes or, rather, is it possible to outline scenarios for the future? Will the changes be confined to Tunisia and Egypt or will they extend to other countries as well? In this lecture Georges Corm will be reflecting on the scope of the political and socioeconomic changes in the Arab countries over the coming years and also their influence in the geopolitical situation of the region, in particular in the relations between the two shores of the Mediterranean and the roles of Israel, the United States and Iran.
