Fox and His Friends (Faustrecht der Freiheit)
Rainer Werner Fassbinder
1975, West Germany, 35 mm, 119 min, original version with subtitles (En-Sp)

Franz Biberkopf (Fox) is a working-class man whose carnival booth is closed down. Soon after, he wins the lottery and starts a new life, with new friends and a new boyfriend. He feels happy and sure of himself in a higher social class, but gradually comes to realize that he is not at home in a world of lies, hypocrisy and egoism that he had previously thought idyllic.
