Xcèntric. 14th season 2014-2015

Endless images. Tribute to Harun Farocki

Xcèntric, the CCCB's cinema

Audiovisuals

Each new film by Harun Farocki helped us to understand the world we live in a little better. His sudden death last July has left us a little more in the dark. We decided to pay him a tribute with three films that question cinematographic representation from different ethical and aesthetic viewpoints. What to represent and how to represent it are two departure points that the German filmmaker used to draw different but always committed and revealing paths. [The programme is completed by the screening of a hitherto unseen excerpt from the interview Farocki gave to the team of Soy Cámara, the CCCB’s TV programme, a few weeks before his death.]

Inextinguishable Fire, 1969, 16 mm, 25 min ; The Taste of Life, 1979, 16 mm, 29 min; Workers leaving the factory, 1995, video, 29 min + bonus.
