Dialogue between Ingrid Guardiola and Franco Berardi

The World As a Screen

Debate

Technological devices have become prostheses of the human body, tools working in constant relationship with the world. All this time spent connected with the Internet has entailed a devaluation of direct, immediate perception of reality, and this affects emotions, the psyche, perceptions, and relations with the Other. Furthermore, interconnected digital technology impinges on the way language is used in forms of (self-)representation and socialisation. Living through interfaces leads us into individual and collective mutations, and we should never stop thinking about this.
