The Words We Don’t Yet Have

Conversation with Jeanette Winterson

Debate

In this session, the English writer Jeanette Winterson, who is considered to be one of the most original voices in the Anglo-Saxon literary scene, will speak with the writer Bel Olid on the occasion of the publication of her last book Frankissstein (published in Spanish and Catalan by Lumen and Edicions del Periscopi respectively).

Jeanette Winterson’s work is a surprising blend of thoughts about love, fanaticism, time travel and quantum physics. On the occasion of the publication of her new book Frankissstein we shall talk with her about who we are and how we love each other, but also about where we’re going. Without feminism there can be no democracy. And, with feminism, will there be democracy? How can we make the most of the presence of robots and other technologies to improve our lives? Can we escape from the dystopian future augured in so much present-day fiction?

Participants: Jeanette Winterson, Bel Olid
