BCNmp7. Music in your head

Scene + Music

Music in your head delves into the power of music in the lives of all humans and in the relationship between music and our brain. We will learn about the latest research in neuroscience and cognitive psychology with the premiere in Europe of the documentary The Musical Brain, based on the research of the musician and neurologist Daniel J. Leivitin, and which counts on the participation of Sting, Feist and Wyclef Jean. We will see the concerts of Slaraffenland (Denmark), Stag Hare (USA), Qa'a (Barcelona) and Little Miss Lulis and herFolky Ferran (Barcelona).

THE MUSICAL BRAIN (SPANISH) PREMIERE!

Through the findings of research by the most prestigious experts, among which are Dr Daniel Levitin (author of the best seller "This is Your Brain on Music"), the documentary examines the physical, psychological and emotional response to music by means of experiments on children and adults. 'The Musical Brain' also includes heart to heart interviews with Michael Bublé, Feist, Wyclef Jean and Sting, in which these musicians share everything that they have learnt on the power of music in their lives.

As well as sharing his passion for music, Sting offers his own brain for the research. Inspired by the book by Dr. Daniel Levitin, Sting undergoes several tests to discover how music affects him at a physical and emotional level. Using the most advanced technology, 'The Musical Brain' shows how Sting responds to different types of music (simple and complex) and what his ‘musical brain' reveals about him.

"The Musical Brain" was written and directed by Christina Pochmursky and produced by Vanessa Dylyn from Matter of Fact Media in association with CTV and National Geographic Channels International.
