On the occasion of the Josep M. Llompart Year, a constellation of artistic voices celebrates World Poetry Day in an event that invites us to celebrate his work.
In the eighteenth edition of World Poetry Day, the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes and the Federació Catalana d’Associacions i Clubs Unesco have chosen the poem “Desamor”, by Josep M. Llompart, whose centenary of his birth we commemorate this year, as the pulse of an act that invokes memory as a necessity.
Following Llompart's poetics, this act seeks to affirm that, faced with the only certainty of death, life is braided like a litany of hypotheses that rubs nature for refuge and finds in love a universal whole. A whole of honey and nostalgia that, as being so true, becomes fragile. Three letters are enough, sometimes, to stain the light of the apocalypse. If the prefix becomes a sentence, if by keeping silent we say the threat, memory rises like an anchor to undo the loss and crystallize in the poetic gesture: pillar, redemption, justice.
Llompart tried to shrink oblivion with the word. This act will continue its trace gathering a flock of artistic voices: Elvira Prado-Fabregat, Jaume C. Pons Alorda, Cèlia Riba, Vicenç Llorca, Francisco Marín, Biel Mesquida, Laura Taltavull, Núria Guiu, Antònia Vicens, Anna Calsina and Ölivias sharing flight and tune to widen us, one more ray, the songs of the soul.
Interpretation of the act to Catalan sign language by the Associació Gironina de Sords.
