Xavier Luri is a Doctor of Physics and lecturer in the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology (University of Barcelona). His professional career has developed in the framework of space missions, particularly the Gaia Mission of the European Space Agency, of which he was one of the proponents and forms part of the executive in the data processing and analysis consortium (DPAC). He is currently the coordinator in charge of developing the mission’s data files, which will create a 3D map of our galaxy with over a thousand million stars.
