A graduate in Catalan from the University of Barcelona, and chair professor of secondary education currently on sabbatical, he is a member of the Philology Section of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (Catalan Studies Institute).
For many years he combined writing with education. Later he incorporated a new professional facet: the writing of scripts for television and cinema. Nowadays he devotes his time entirely to literature.
His literary work focuses on the novel and the short story, but he has also published plays for theatre and a couple of books of reflection on writing and reading.
