Arnau Pons

Poet, translator and essayist.

 

Born in Felanitx (Mallorca) in 1965 now resident in Collserola (Barcelona). His most recent collection of poems is titled Llum de ganivet (Light of the Knife). He has published, in French, essays on Bachmann and Celan, which appeared in two jointly-authored volumes in homage to Jean Bollack, in addition to another essay on Jacques Dupin for the review Europe. He translates and writes about poets who have been published in a wide range of languages, among them Paul Celan, Luiza Neto Jorge, Dino Campana, Velimir Khlebnikov, Yitzhak Katzenelson and Antonin Artaud ... Furthermore, he writes about Catalan authors including Espriu, Marçal, Bauçà, Maragall, and Guimerà ... while also editing, in Catalan, the works of such contemporary writers as Idith Zertal, Hannah Arendt, Hélène Cixous, Joan Miró, Àngel Carmona, Thomas Bernhard and Mahmud Darwish, inter alia.
