Keep not silent

Ilil Alexander, Israel, 2004, 52', OVCS.

Keep Not Silent is a documentary about three women who are
orthodox Jews and lesbians in Jerusalem. There are many Orthodox Jewish
laws in conflict with lesbianism, therefore these women have to hide
their faces in order not to be recognised. The director documents their
painful struggle to consolidate what appears to be Ilil Alexander a
contradiction in terms: to reconcile their intimate self, their faith
and their sexuality with the conventions and norms of religious
orthodoxy.
