Eduard Sanjuán

Afghanistan: A Metaphor for Information in Times of War

In the Afghanistan of the Talibans the reporter Eduard Sanjuán, members of the TV3 team and two local guides were on the point of suffering the same fate as the murdered journalists Julio Fuentes, Maria Grazia Cutuli, Harry Burton and Azizulah Haidari.

The killing of his colleagues on that Kabul road is Sanjuán's starting point for thinking about the role of the journalism which informs people about barbarism in a mass medium and tends towards the mere description of news impact. His intervention is accompanied by images from the book Balkan, in memoriam by the photo-journalist Sandra Balsells.
