Ibsen Martínez

Writer, columnist and essayist

(Caracas, 1951). A fiction writer, columnist and essayist, he has published some of his work in Letras Libres, El Malpensante, El Nacional and El Universal, Foreign Policy, El Espectador, La Nouvelle Revue Française, Washington Post, Revista de Occidente, ABC and La Nación. He has written several plays and has published two novels, El Mono Aullador de los Manglares (2000) and El señor Marx no está en casa (2009). He writes as a columnist for the morning newspaper Tal Cual and El Mundo, economía y negocios. He is currently working on a history of the first hundred years of the Venezuelan oil industry.
